WHITE PLAINS -- Sixteen Archbishop Stepinac High School seniors (Class of 2024) were honored on January 6 on the basketball courts for their outstanding contributions to the community. 

Among the community programs that the students supported were Blood Drives for the New York Blood Center; Feeding Westchester; "Polar Plunge" (Special Olympics); Turkey Donations for the Our Lady of Mount Carmel - Elmsford Community Food Pantry; fundraiser to support Box City's mission of providing shelter for the New York region's homeless and Toy Drive for the gravely ill and injured children at Maria Fareri Children's Hospital.

Students who received certificates of commendation at the Stepinac vs. Iona Prep basketball game were: Waiz Aamir (Yonkers) Nathaniel Alvarez (Ossining), Tom Brady (Yonkers), Shane Byrne (Yonkers), Antonio Coffaro (Yonkers), Riley Colon (Yonkers), Sean Delaney (White Plains), Tyler Dobeck (Scarsdale), Jack Doyle (Yonkers), Dylan Fox (Yonkers), Ryan Harvey (Yonkers), Paul LeBlanc (Yonkers), Conor McCormack (Yonkers), Thomas Pavletich (Mahopac), Jordan Prado (White Plains), and Vuswe Watson (White Plains).

It was a big night for Stepinac at Westchester County Center where the renowned all-boys Catholic high school’s championship varsity basketball team defeated Iona Prep, 72-48, at a sold-out game.
