Renewal Sister Makes Final Vows

Sister Josephine Marie Schuler, C.F.R., 33, daughter of Gail and Will Schuler, was born and raised in Hazel Green, Wis. She studied English literature and graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, before entering the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal in 2011. During her years of temporary profession, she served at the novitiate formation house in the Bronx, at St. Clare Convent in Leeds, England, and at Our Lady Queen of Angels Convent in East Harlem. After Final Profession, Sister Josephine will be assigned to Our Lady Queen of Angels Convent, where she will assist with the sisters’ apostolates for the poor, with youth programs and serve as the local vicar.

Sister Josephine Marie of Mercy, C.F.R., received the final vows at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Manhattan, where Auxiliary Bishop Edmund Whalen celebrated the June 4 Mass.
