Born Mary Winifred Sheil in Cleveland, Ohio, Sister Mary Edwin Sheil, O.P., entered eternal life on June 8, 2023.

She professed her First Vows on September 4, 1966. A registered nurse and a licensed nursing home administrator, Sister Mary Edwin served in homes of the congregation as director of nursing or chief administrator. She served at St. Rose's Home in Manhattan for six years, and later as administrator of Rosary Hill Home in Hawthorne. 

Sister Mary Edwin celebrated her Golden Jubilee in 2016. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph and sisters Lori Ann and Margaret (Marky). She is survived by her brother Father James Sheil of the Diocese of Cleveland (retired), and brother-in-law Ray Gerber.

Mass of Christian burial will be private, held on Tuesday, June 13, at Rosary Hill Home. Sister Mary Edwin's brother, Fr. James Sheil will act as principal celebrant.
