Certified Caregiver
Overview/Purpose:
Serve and protect all residents by providing the highest standards of medical care as directed.
Direct Supervisor:
Egan Pavilion – Assistant Director of Retired Priests & Registered Nurse (Assistant Director)

Responsibilities & Duties:
- Provides direct and indirect care under the direction of either the Director or Assistant Director including not limited to personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, combing hair, brushing teeth/cleaning dentures and shaves; assisting with travel to the bathroom; helping with showers and baths.
- Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
- Performs basic medical needs such as but not limited to changing simple dressings, care of catheters and medication assistance as directed by Director or Assistant Director.
- Maintains Retired Priests stability by checking weight, recording intake, and output information as directed by Director or Assistant Director.
- Provides Retired Priests comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting retired Priests; answering all call lights and requests; reporting observations of all Retired Priests to the Director or Assistant Director.
- Reports any new signs of breakdown on the Retired Priest’s physical body and/or mental state to the Retired Priests to the Director or Assistant Director.
- Report on all changes in overall health for residents to the Director or Assistant Director.
- Responds to medical emergencies at all times.
- Maintains work operations by following protocols and adhering to professional standards.
- Protects organization's value by keeping Retired Priests information confidential.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High School diploma or GED
- Certified Nursing Assistant Certificate or Home Health Aide Certificate is required
- One year of experience working with the elderly in an assisted living, home, or Nursing home environment is required.
- Flexible, confidential, compassionate, and a team player.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Good listening and verbal communication skills
Compensation range for this position is: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour.
This position is considered part-time with a work schedule of 22.5 hours per week, non-exempt, and eligible for overtime.
