Intern
Overview/Purpose:
Provide operational and administrative support to the Development Office and its fundraising initiatives, including the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal, St. Joseph’s Seminary, and the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation.
Reports to: Business Manager
Work Location: 488 Madison Avenue, New York, NY 10022
Responsibilities:
- Prepare written correspondence, assist with donor outreach, and support direct mail initiatives
- Manage requests for administrative support from Business Manager and development staff
- Assist with donor database projects, including maintenance and research
- Assist with making follow-up calls to donors seeking further information
- Assist with execution of solicitation materials, including merging, stuffing, and binding
- Provide logistical support for virtual and in-person events as needed
- Scan office files and create digital archives upon request
- Assume responsibility for special projects as needed
Education, Experience, and Skills:
- High school degree required
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Detailed and priority-oriented
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Intelligent, articulate, highly motivated self-starter with strong interpersonal skills
- Interested in learning about non-profit fundraising and marketing
- Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage tasks effectively and in a timely manner with minimal supervision
Compensation range for this position is: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour.
This position is non-exempt from overtime, has a work schedule of 21 hours per week, and has a duration of 6/8/2026 through 8/14/2026.
