ArchCare is now accepting applications for the nine private studio apartments planned for the former convent on the campus of Immaculate Conception and Assumption of Our Lady Parish, which will allow people with autism to live away from their families, many for the first time, as part of a small community of peers.
The project, which is slated for completion early next year, addresses the growing need for safe, affordable housing where individuals with autism can live productive and fulfilling lives in the community as the parents and siblings who have cared for them all their lives age.
