Archbishop Ronald Hicks to Observe Holy Week and Easter Celebrations

Archbishop Ronald Hicks, Archbishop of New York, will participate in his first Holy Week and Easter observances since his installation as archbishop on February 6, 2026. The archbishop will be the main celebrant and homilist at each liturgy.

At Saturday’s Easter Vigil, the archbishop will baptize and welcome 9 new members of the Catholic Church. In all, more than 3600 people will be baptized and receive the sacraments of communion and confirmation in the parishes of the archdiocese at this year’s Easter Vigils. This is part of a nationwide trend, that has seen record numbers of individuals entering the Church and receiving these sacraments of initiation.

The archbishop will celebrate and preach at the following liturgies at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral.

Holy Thursday, April 2, 5:30 p.m.: Mass of the Lord’s Supper
Good Friday, April 3, 3:30 p.m.: Good Friday Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion and Death
Holy Saturday, April 4, 8:00 p.m.: Easter Vigil
Easter Sunday, April 5, 10:00 a.m.: Easter Sunday Mass
