His Eminence, Cardinal Timothy M. Dolan, has announced the formation of a search committee to begin the process of naming a new Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of New York.
This legislation was recently introduced and is being fast-tracked for legislative votes. Despite how it is framed by proponents, this bill is not a simple update of New York’s laws. It is an extreme expansion of current state abortion policy.
The Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Cathedral with a vigil prayer service and concert tonight, December 11, 2018 at 7pm. The vigil of Las Mañanitas will include a prayer service, traditional Mexican music, mariachi, and folk performances in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. These events are hosted by Casa Puebla and El Comite Guadalupano de la Arquidiocesis de Nueva York.

Papal visits are rare, defining moments in New York City’s history. From Papal Masses at Yankees Stadium to the iconic popemobile making its way to Central Park, no image is more indelibly linked to a papal visit than the pope’s arrival at the spiritual center of the city, St. Patrick’s Cathedral. These four busts of Pope Paul VI, Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis are intended to memorialize these historic visits, as well as their significance to the cathedral, the city and, the generations of people they encountered.
