Love & Responsibility NYC

Join us for the 1st night of our Love & Responsibility NYC Summer Series featuring a talk from Fr. Charles Rooney, O.P. and music from Fernando Torres. Join us as we discuss God's perfect design for love and relationships. We’ll have live music, Q&A, followed by an outdoor social, refreshments, and more!

The first night will take place Thursday, August 6, from 7:30pm to 9:30pm.

About Speaker & Musician:

Father Charles Rooney: Fr. Charles Marie Rooney, O.P., is a priest of the Dominican Province of St. Joseph and serves as parochial vicar at St. Dominic Church / Parroquia Santo Domingo in Youngstown, OH.  Fr. Charles was born and baptized here in Manhattan and grew up, the eldest of three boys, in Connecticut.  He entered the Dominicans as a novice in 2017, was ordained a priest in 2024, and after his ordination, served as a chaplain Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Fr. Charles enjoys sports, the outdoors, music, and studying the theology of St. Thomas Aquinas and Pope St. John Paul II. He is excited to be a speaker for Love & Responsibility!

Fernando Torres: Fernando Torres is a Catholic worship leader and co-founder of Agnus Dei Ministry. Born in New York City to Dominican parents, Fernando has dedicated his life to leading others into a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ through worship and Eucharistic Holy Hours. He has led worship at diocesan youth events, retreats, conferences, parish missions, and young adult gatherings, with a passion for helping people encounter Christ through music, prayer, and the sacraments.
