What does it mean to accompany those facing a serious or terminal diagnosis with authentic care and compassion? How do we navigate care and treatment decisions in accord with human dignity? Through a variety of medical, ethical and legal perspectives, as well as witness testimonies, this Symposium will offer considerations and guidance on care, especially for the elderly, the disabled, and those with serious illnesses. Speakers will address the spiritual vision of the end of life, the principles of end-of-life care, and how to make end-of-life decisions according to Catholic teaching.
The day will include:
- Talks by the Sisters of Life, the Dominican Healthcare Ministry, Dr. Robert Brescia of Calvary Hospital and other experts in palliative care
- An opportunity to receive answers to your questions and valuable resources
