New York Catholics & America

Faith, Sacrifice,
& Service

For well over 250 years, Catholics across New York have helped shape the story of America through faith, sacrifice, and service.

From immigrants seeking hope to priests and religious sisters who built parishes, hospitals, and communities the contributions of Catholics throughout the archdiocesan footprint have helped form both the Church in America and the nation itself. These are the stories of the people whose faith left an extraordinary mark on American history.

Join the National Novena
to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

Novena: June 3 – 11 Consecration: June 11

As part of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the Catholic bishops of the United States will consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus on June 11, 2026. This historic act invites us to entrust our country, our communities, and our families to the loving Heart of Christ.

From June 3–11, Catholics across the nation are invited to pray a Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, preparing spiritually for this consecration. Rooted in the Litany of the Sacred Heart and inspired by the teachings of recent popes, the novena calls us to deeper prayer, conversion, mercy, and trust in the Lord's love.

Join the U.S. Church in this time of prayer and reflection as we prepare to consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
