Vocation Education Programs
Parish/Vicariate Vocation Education Programs
Programs offered to assist administration and leadership of a parish / vicariate in regaining the consciousness of the need in our Church for people to commit themselves to the ordained and consecrated life by providing:
an afternoon or evening of guided reflection consisting of prayer, a redefining of priesthood and consecrated life, facilitated discussion, action steps
- vocation talks given by priests and religious to various groups in the parish community
- collaboration with, and assistance to the Vocation Committee of the Parish Council
- regional days of prayer, reflection and information. on consecrated life
- speakers for World Day of Prayer for Vocations
School and Catechetical Vocation Education Programs
Programs designed to explore vocation discernment in the light of our Baptismal Call by providing:
- school faculty and catechists formation workshops which assist them in enhancing their understanding of personal vocation and of the vocation of religious brother or sister
- speakers and resources including lesson plans for Elementary and High Schools and Catechetical classes
- a day for high school students conducted by members of the Vocation Office and vocation directors from various religious communities of men and women
Youth Groups and Young Adult Programs
Programs designed to enable adults in the parish community to be instruments of the Spirit in the lives of the youth and young adults by inviting, supporting, guiding and praying with them in discerning God's call by providing:
- religious life presence to existing Archdiocesan retreat and youth groups
- speakers for young adult groups in the parish
- days of discernment for women and men considering religious life
- support groups for women and men in the discernment process for religious life
on campus retreats
