Bishop Sheridan

The Most Reverend Patrick J. Sheridan was born on March 10,1922 in New York.


He was educated at Cathedral College, New York, NY; St. Joseph's Seminary, Yonkers, NY; and the University of Chicago where he earned a Masters in Education.


Francis Cardinal Spellman ordained Bishop Sheridan as a priest of the Archdiocese of New York on March 1, 1947.


In 1976, Bishop Sheridan was appointed as Episcopal Vicar to the Northeast Bronx and in 1982, he served as Episcopal Vicar of Central Westchester.


In 1987, Bishop Sheridan was named Vicar General of the Archdiocese of New York and in 1990, John Cardinal O’Connor ordained him to the Episcopacy.


Bishop Sheridan officially retired in February 2001.
