Position: Associate Director of Parish Training
Location: New York, New York
Type: Full Time
The position reports directly to the Director of Parish Financial Reporting and Training. The primary responsibility in the position is to provide training to all parish staff members (who use the ADNY-selected accounting software), accountants, and Archdiocesan personnel on the use of the Parish Soft ConnectNow accounting system. The Associate Director of Parish Training also helps parish personnel better understand the accounting process, as it pertains to their parish or school.
Train on ParishSoft ConnectNow at all parishes and schools, including one-on-one sessions as needed; follow-up training as may be requested.
Review selected year-end reports end for accuracy as it pertains to the accounting software and overall accounting statements (Balance Sheet and Income/Expense Reports).
Assist Associate Directors with accounting software problems.
Provide telephonic training/support from a ‘Help Desk’ environment.
Schedule training classes and assist in materials preparation.
Act as sole bookkeeper for selected parishes – record all accounts payable and receivable, conduct reconciliation of bank statements, run and record payroll, and provide selected financial reports as may be requested by a pastor, Associate Director, and/or accountant (i.e. income/expense projections, cash flow, etc.).
Education and Experience
Degree in accounting or, alternatively, proven success in related finance work experience.
Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to provide troubleshooting for basic PC issues on the local level.
Proficient with in Microsoft Word, and familiar with “GoToMeeting” andTeam Viewer technology.
Strong oral and written communicative skills.
Be willing to work overtime as needed.
Traveling to various Archdiocesan parishes will be expected.
Personality requires candidate to be a good listener and patient.
